WHY NOW?

We envision a new future, back to the Earth. There is so much we can do — to heal the land and ourselves.

In these times when the Earth is in turmoil, we need more humans in the world who are building, teaching and living a regenerative culture, in order to bring diversity and abundance back to Earth.

We hold that a deep relationship with nature is essential to becoming a fully alive and whole human. We all need this critical understanding and development, which is why we are devoted to nature connection.
We believe our role in nature as humans is to walk earth-conscious lifeways, be in a participatory relationship with nature, and express deep gratitude for this world. Embodying these roles allows us to live more joyfully with nature and be in service to the earth.
OUR PURPOSE

Our aim is to create a regenerative culture where humans live in partnership  with the earth, because we believe in healing the land and ourselves, and in leaving a legacy of diversity and abundance, so that future generations may thrive.

How Can We Ensure We Leave the Next Generation a Viable World — Full of Natural Wonder, Awe, Love and Respect?

IT'S A PLEASURE TO MEET YOU

Hi, I'm Fern. I Am the Principle Mentor and Founder of Earthkin Learning.

Nature is my primary teacher.

I believe in creating regenerative culture that is deeply connected to nature, where intergenerational mentorship thrives.

We see and meet each learner as fellow human-being, as kinfolk to the earth on a similar journey—with real goals, fears and desires—who need encouragement, guidance, and practice, in order to build the confidence and skills they need to feel secure, stand tall, find their voice, and fulfill their greater role in healing the earth.
OUR APPROACH

We Provide Creative Mentorship, and a Supportive Container for Individual-Directed Back-To-Basics Earth Living.

We provide opportunity and guidance to develop hands-on bushcraft skills and heart skills. We use the 8-Shields coyote mentoring approach that holds nature as the primary teacher and the individual as the director of their learning.

8-SHIELDS ATTRIBUTES

"Our intention is to re-awaken these primordial attributes in people, and in turn, help heal the widespread disconnection with nature and loss of connective cultures worldwide."

— 8 Shields Institute

OUR PROMISE

We Are Raising a Land-Connected, Regenerative Culture, One That Recognizes, Honours and Awakens Each Individuals’ Unique Gifts.

So that we each may grow together, as we sow our own story of healing to pass-down to the next generation.

Walking towards this future means that individuals need to connect with nature and their yearning for village. This journey can be started at every stage of life, from child to adult. Having a supportive mentor helps tremendously.
Through lived experiences and living-proof, we can set the example of what a life-giving and supportive culture means, and how it can cause the positive change we need for our youth, and all future generations.
