BELINDA WHITE
Belinda White is a passionate coyote mentor, wild-crafter, storyteller, photographer and mother. Owner and head mentor at Apple Star learning, she has been running nature connection programs and teaching at earthskills gatherings for 8 years for 2-13 year-olds, teens and adults, and working as an alternative teacher, mentor and consultant with children and adults for over 12 years. Belinda has a wide and inclusive grasp of many alternative educational philosophies, such as Montessori, Waldorf, Reggio, Tinkering School, and Unschooling. Learning the 8 Shields model of coyote mentoring wrapped a beautiful blanket around all these and opened a deeper understanding of how children, how we all learn and thrive. Belinda especially loves eco-arts, like basket weaving, eco-printing, tracking, both outer and inner, and storytelling
Belinda has taught language arts, photography, and many other topics for over 25 years! She believes two things fundamentally: The stories we tell, are the stories we live by, and, when we connect to outer nature, we also connect to inner nature, and the larger story of life!
Belinda has a BA in Communications, two years part-time monthly 8 Shields Nature Connection Mentoring courses with Wisdom of the Earth, Coyote Mentoring Weekend Course at Thriving Roots Wilderness School, ongoing mentoring with Jon Young, co-founder of the 8 Shields and co-author of Coyote’s Guide to Connecting with Nature, through Connections 1st. She is committed to a life-long learning of bird-language, ecology, plant medicine, tracking, wild crafting, survival skills, story carrying, and culture regeneration. Belinda can’t wait to ignite that spark in you!
